Science Fiction (added 01.07.10)
This is a work that I composed for Theremin and Percussion Ensemble in 2008 and is a homage to my favorite movies I watched as a child (and still enjoy today). It is published by Tapspace. I composed, performed, and recorded all the music and FX in the studio and then distributed the parts to the percussion majors at UNCC. We performed the composition live with film at our concert in the fall of 2008. I have included both the studio and live performances here for your enjoyment. Justin Blackwood deserves special mention for the MPC loops that occur in the middle of the piece. The performers are: Taylor Caton, Meredith Butterworth, Patrick McGinty, Matt Curl, Ryan Walder, Tom Reaves, Chris Bryan, Justin Blackwood, and Brandon Nicholson. Rick Dior is on electronics and is conducting. The Hazmat suits are provided by Trevor's dad.

Chapter 5: The Conquering Legions of Rome (added 01.07.10)
This is one of the solos from John S. Pratt's great book "Rudimental Solos for Accomplished Drummers". I have put many more Pratt videos up on my Blog. You can also see all of the Pratt works on my Youtube page. Just go to Youtube and search Rick Dior. These videos are all part of a project I completed in the summer of 2009 which is the video and audio recording of all of Pratt's books as well as Snare Drum books by Cirone, Albright, Delecluse, Peters, and Whaley. There may be a little time lag between the audio and video -- a result of the massive amounts of video compression I had to use to post the clips. You can contact me if you are interested in DVD's of these at 704 576 0793.

Developing Jazz Coordination (added 01.07.10)
This is one of many drum set videos I have made over the years to help students grasp certain concepts that I teach. In this case I am demonstrating how to develop Jazz Coordination using pages from my book. This video is an excerpt from a much more detailed video that is available with my book "Advanced Coordination for Drum Set and Hand Percussion". You can also see many more instructional drum set videos on my Youtube page. Just go to Youtube and search Rick Dior.

This is a percussion ensemble composition by UNCC Composition professor Dr. John Allemeier. He composed it specifically for the UNCC Percussion Ensemble and this recording was done in the studio with all the parts being played by yours truly.
